We offer quite a unique service for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plant operators by working closely together with them but without any onsite visit. Our team has gained a 3-decade experience working together with WWTP operators to optimize the performance of hundreds of municipal and industrial activated sludge, and attached growth plants worldwide. We combine the theoretical knowledge of microbial kinetics, and ASM models with onsite work experience together with operators. We know the Microbial Ecology of activated sludge, and wastewater bacteria, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Engineering of activated sludge microorganisms, and we also know how to optimize a wastewater treatment plant, and extract the peak performance of it within the given boundaries an operator have, we cook with what you have. Since we have been working for operators for decades we are aware that WWTP’s are a complex of multiple sciences (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, Civil, and Architectural Engineering etc.).
Our vast experience in optimizing activated sludge, attached growth, and granular wastewater treatment plants covers all technologies currently available on the market: various types of continuous flow plants with total oxidation, partial or full nutrient removal, SBRs, MBRs, MBBRs, high-rate anaerobic reactors (UASB, EGSB, IC), mesophilic digesters etc.

Originally, we started as a manufacturer of Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation products used by wastewater treatment plants worldwide for solving various issues with activated sludge, attached growth plants, and lagoons. We were forced to work closely together with operators from the very beginning to ensure that the applications of our products lead to success. The reason of it is very simple: our products bring benefit to the biology, elevates the treatment performance, and reduce operational costs. But since most of our technologies are microbial-based, they have the same fundamentals, and requirements the generic biology have. In many cases we needed to find the source of the issue which was handicapping the plant’s biology, and we ironed it out, else it would have limited our success, or would have led to no results at all. We have done our job with onsite cooperation with operators for more than 25 years, until we have gained enough experience from hundreds of municipal, and industrial WWTP’s worldwide to develop a system which enables us being able to help our clients remotely, troubleshoot their plants, and ensure continuous tech support for the daily operation if required by our client.
That is a possible, if not frequent scenario. We will not find the problem, you will find it. We will hold your hand, and guide you, we show you where to search the source of the issue, and you will find it, everybody has found it yet. That is a part of our service.
We have used all data we had from optimizing, and troubleshooting municipal, and industrial WWTP’s in 25 years, we learned from our mistakes, built on our successes, and developed an easy, very straightforward system to be able to remote-control the optimization process of a WWTP biology without ever visiting it.
Do you believe that your problem with your WWTP cannot be solved without huge investment or upgrade?
Since we only deal with optimizing existing biologies by revving up their treatment capacity for decades, we urge you to give us a shot. We are very much used to cooking with what we have. You have nothing to lose, since project evaluations, and quoting are free of charge. If we find that no value we can add to your operation, and your plant’s issue can’t be addressed without significant investment in upgrading, we will let you know in 1-2 days.
Actually, a decent. The Head of the operations at a WWTP, or whoever is our appointed, English-speaking contact person at the customer company is our eye at the plant. Frequent data supply, communication with us, talking about the operation of the plant, executing exactly what we recommend are key essential for making the process successful, and as quick as possible. Without the above, our service will not make a difference.
Supply as much data as you can. The first step is that you need to show us your plant by filling the right questionnaire, which you can download below. Continuous flow, and SBR plants have different questionnaires, please fill, and send us the right one matching your plant’s technology. MBR, MBBR operators usually need the continuous flow version, please neglect the lines not matching your plant. The more data you supply, the less questions we have, the quicker we can start working with your plant. If you are aware of some sources of your problems, mechanical or electrical, SCADA etc. issues, please let us know in the end of the document. The files are in Word format, you can edit them:
Whenever the common work has started, we will need your operational datasheet as frequently as possible. Most of the plants have this file for registering daily operational data. If you do not have it, or it does not contain every information we need for our work, we will create an Excel sheet for you with the data we need, and you need to register on a daily basis. The Excel file’s content is always custom-made exactly for your plant. You should not be afraid, usually we only need data that WWTP’s usually measure and register every day: activated sludge settling rates (30, 60, 90, 120 minutes whichever is applied by the operator), energy consumption of the plant, excess sludge removal amount, dewatered sludge amount, temperature of the biology, chemical dosages (if there are any), influent wastewater amount (m3/d), influent, effluent parameters, COD, BOD, NH4-N, TN, TP, TSS etc.
According to our experiences in the past, operational data of wastewater treatment plants are classified by the customer. Despite that we need to get the real picture about the plant, since we are unable to help the operator if data supply is insufficient. All of your data are kept confidential, all data are only used for the service, to optimize your plant, no data are leaked outside our company. All data are kept at only one person who is your contact for the operation. We are ready to sign non-disclosure agreements if you require, we are very much used to that.
Any companies who use any of our Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation technologies for optimizing their WWTP, our tech support comes free of charge. You do not need to pay anything for our services, if you use any of our products.
If you currently do not use, and you do not plan to use any of our Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation products, please send us the right questionnaire filled with your plant data (please download by scrolling the previous question above), provide us as detailed description about your problem, and goals as possible, and we will make a proposal for you, and send it to you.
For companies within the borders of European Union (EU) there is no upfront payment requirement, payment is after the approval of the Certificate of Contract Completion by the client (this document is a part of the contract you can download below). Our contract terms are very easy, straightforward, and flexible, based upon customer satisfaction only. We do not put our clients in a financial risk. You can download the contract draft you need to fill, and send us signed if you would like to take our service here (editable pdf format):
For companies outside European Union (EU), we need to work out the terms individually, please contact us here:
Since our Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation products used in wastewater treatment are created for optimizing biological wastewater treatment plants, and they provide solutions for all issues a plant can struggle with, our technologies make the optimization process easier, and quicker for every operator. Besides all companies who use any of our Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation technologies for optimizing their WWTP, our tech support comes free of charge. You do not need to pay anything for our services, if you use any of our products on a continuous basis.
However, we do understand the position of our market worldwide, and we need to accept the fact that due to a lot of scammers trying to sell questionable quality microbial addons as snake oil or magic, the reputation of Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation has been let down throughout the years. A lot of operators have been approached by dealers selling these stuffs for a decent amount of money without any professional knowledge, or any knowledge about the products they try to sell, and disappeared when results did not come. Also, we must respect that some operators still do not believe in Bioaugmentation although real manufacturers like us have shown the benefit throughout the past decades. That is why we offer our service independently from our main activity (Manufacturing of Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation products).
Please feel free to contact us to ask for a proposal for our wastewater treatment plant, and activated sludge troubleshooting service even if you currently do not use, or you do not intend to use any of our Environmental Biotechnology, and Bioaugmentation products.
How and when will you know whether your problem with your activated sludge plant is solvable or not?
Right after you sent us the questionnaire, and provided all info available regarding your plant, and a description about your goals you would like to reach. We will evaluate your plant (free of charge), and we only quote you our service, if we find that we can add value to your operation. We also will declare what can you expect from the optimization process (with or without Bioaugmentation depending on your choice).
Szabolcs “Sabby” Malaczko runs our Service Department for wastewater treatment, and also manages our European operations. Please do not try to write or pronounce his first name, it will hardly work out, just call him Sabby like everybody does. Sabby has been working for our company since 2006, and he has controlled all wastewater treatment projects we have had since then (hundreds worldwide). He graduated as a Wastewater Bioengineer (faculty of Industrial Biotechnology) back in 2003, he is the guy for you to deal with. Please contact him here:
“We took the service of Malatech for optimizing the effluent parameters of our SBR reactors treating our wastewater from fish meal and oil processing. Our microbiology has been struggling with numerous problems due to the nature of our raw wastewater, and all has been addressed by the cooperation with Malatech. We appreciated, and found unique that such an amount of biological problems was ironed out successfully without an onsite visit ever, by only online communication with Malatech with the company being thousands of kilometres away from us. We just continuously shared our data, and took the advices coming from Malatech – Toomas Kevvai – CEO – Pro Fish Meal & Oil”
“Initially we started to work with Malatech in 2016 to apply their biotechnology for the reduction of operational costs of 2 of our wastewater treatment plants UASB + activated sludge treatment both. Our WWTP’s treat industrial wastewater of bean, pea, and corn processing, and run seasonally. Based on the success of the products, we started consulting with Malatech for our daily operation as well. The results throughout the years brought massive savings in energy consumption, excess sludge dewatering and transportation, and chemical consumption. Tech support we received also worked perfectly, and quickly for troubleshooting when we had biology upsets, sedimentation issues, overloads – Akos Turjan – Sustainable Development Project Manager – Bonduelle Europe, Ltd.”
“Our municipal WWTP receives industrial wastewater from a food industry in high amount, concentration of pollutants, and toxic substances which has adversely affected the performance of our WWTP effluent. We opted to take the services of Malatech through its Slovakian distributor SanAqua, s.r.o., and with continuous cooperation we managed to stabilize our biology in 3 months, and we are running trouble-free since then – Frantisek Ruman – Managing Director – Vodarenska spolocnost Sladkovicovo, spol. s.r.o. ”
“We operate an activated sludge WWTP in Poland to treat our protein-processing industrial wastewater. Besides using the core technologies of Malatech for our AS, they helped us in restoring the biology whenever we had nitrification or settling issues due to overload or technical failures – Janusz Wieczorek – Plant Manager – Saria Polska ”
“We manufacture protein products by processing dead animals. Our activated sludge WWTP has a massive load in terms of COD, Ammonium, and the load fluctuates depending on our seasons which can result malfunctions within the biology from time to time (nitrification, denitrification, Nitrite accumulation). We first contacted Malatech in 2009, since then we take their service, whenever we face issues with our biology. When a problem occurs, we are in daily contact with Malatech, and provide them our daily data, and so far, they supported our operation, and plant setup with advices that we managed to overcome the problems quickly – Norbert Demeter – WWTP & Environmental Manager – ATEV, Inc.
“We have an MBR bioreactor to treat the wastewater of plastic-recycling. We provide continuous data supply about our system to Malatech, in return we receive valuable tech support for our operation to deal with inhibitory, toxic loads, and keeping stable effluent parameters – Antal Kocsis – Technical Manager – Jasz-Plasztik, Ltd.”
